How to Travel to Coachella 2026

The upcoming festival returns to the Empire Polo Club, which is situated in the desert near Indio, California. The venue lies about two hours east of Los Angeles. It’s one of the largest and most anticipated music festivals in the US, so tickets for flights, shuttles, and other transportation modes sell out quickly. 

Closest Airports to Coachella

If you plan to travel to Coachella 2026 by plane, there are five convenient airports close to the festival. The best option is Palm Springs International Airport (PSP), which is located only 30 minutes from the venue. The airport is a few kilometers from downtown Palm Springs, offering convenient and fast routes to the Empire Polo Club. It’s usually the most expensive and often limited option due to high demand ahead of Coachella.

For budget-friendly flights, consider flying to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). LAX is one of the busiest and largest airports in the US, offering plenty of routes to thousands of destinations. The trip from LAX to Coachella takes about 2.5 hours. 

Another great option is Ontario International Airport (ONT), located just 61 km (38 mi) east of downtown LA and around 128 km (80 mi) from the Coachella Valley. The drive takes about two hours. 

Driving to Coachella Valley

If you drive from the Los Angeles area, take I-10 East. From Palm Springs, take CA-111. The exits are Avenue 50 & Madison, Avenue 52 & Madison (Green Path), Avenue 49 & Monroe, and Avenue 52 & Monroe. If you drive on Thursday, be ready for the worst traffic — the highways are extremely busy. It’s best to come over a few days earlier if possible or leave extra time for delays.

Another way to get to Coachella is by bike, especially from Indio. The distance from Indio to the festival grounds is around 6 km (4 mi), which is easy to reach by bike. The festival provides bike racks at the camping Lot 8 on 801 North Street and near the Shuttle Lobby on the Yellow path. 

Public transport is also available in the Coachella Valley. You can take Line 11 from Indio, which is about a 12-minute ride.

Coachella 2026 Parking Info 

Coachella 2026 offers limited parking options, including Day Parking and Preferred Parking. The parking at the festival is available Friday–Sunday from 11 am to 2 am. The Preferred Parking pass costs $299 for the weekend. For parking details, visit the Coachella website. Car camping is available through passes on the website and runs from Thursday 9 am to Monday 9 am.

Coachella 2026 Shuttles

Coachella Shuttle Service offers shuttles to and from the festival across multiple popular stops, including Agua Caliente Casino Resort & Spa, Indian Wells Tennis Garden, and Palm Springs Convention Center. The weekend pass costs $150. There’s a direct shuttle service between the festival and LAX. This shuttle service starts at $131.
