Stranger Things Season 5 Filming Locations

Filming for Season 5 started on January 5, 2024, and wrapped on December 20, 2024. The cast of the series traveled to Georgia to shoot most of the scenes in Season 5. Many scenes were filmed in Atlanta, with a few scenes shot in Jackson, Rome, and East Point. 

Some of the most notable locations are Hawkins, the Upside Down, The Squawk, Turnbow Mansion, and the Creel House. Here’s a breakdown of the main Stranger Things Season 5 filming locations: 

   🔹 Hawkins: The fictional town of Hawkins is set in Indiana, the main setting of the series, where characters live. The scenes of the town were shot in Jackson, Georgia. Fans can visit the Hawkins Headquarters in the town to feel the spirit of this iconic sci-fi series and buy some themed merch. 

   🔹 The Upside Down: The main Hawkins Lab location was filmed in Atlanta, Georgia. It’s a major spot where many scenes with Eleven were filmed. 

   🔹 The Squawk: One of the key locations in Season 5 is WSQK 94.5 FM – “The Squawk” Radio Station. The trailer revealed that the radio station will be a standout location of the season. The scenes were filmed near the Chattahoochee Hills, right by the Hutchesons Ferry Road, southwest of Atlanta. The set was built in an empty field, featuring a giant radio mast. 

   🔹 The Creel House: The Creel House first appeared in Season 4 and remains an important place in Season 5. It’s Henry Creel’s childhood home, shown in a horror-style setting. The Claremont House was built in 1882 in Rome, Georgia. It’s currently closed to visitors, but you can still find it on East 2nd Avenue. 

   🔹 Turnbow Mansion: It’s a location in the Loch Nora neighborhood of Hawkins, playing a key role in many related scenes. This house can be found in Stone Mountain, Georgia, by the intersection of Kanawha Drive and Chedworth Lane. 

In addition to the main sets, Stranger Things Season 5 features the Hawkins cemetery, which was filmed in Stone Mountain. A college that Dustin heads to in the show is Oglethorpe University in Brookhaven. 

Stranger Things Season 5 Release Date

The second volume will be released on December 25, with episodes 5–7, while the last episode will premiere on December 31.
