Tarsin

Yesterday I took a Tarsin bus from Suceava, Romania to Chernivtsi, Ukraine. The bus was very clean . It departed on time and arrived 45 minutes early . The driver Marius is a very competent individual. He presents himself well. Most importantly, he is an excellent driver and know how to navigate border controls with precision and in a timely fashion. I have been a passenger with Marius several times and he is great.

My children and I were not satisfied with the trip. The bus was not which the passengers expected and nobody was warned about possible changes of the vehicle. After the control on the Ukrainian border, the driver took from the customer officer all passengers' passports to the duty free shop and did not want to give them back before he could buy vodka. This is nonsense! As a driver he was very attentive on the road.

This company is an official Romanian carrier, so I think they pay taxes into Ukrainian and Romanian government - that is one of the reasons why i used it twice but not some small illegal Ukrainian buses. Also they have wifi (it worked when i travelled with them the first time and this time just on the bus station, though). The carrier worker speaks Russian (not Ukrainian, unfortunately) but it helped to understand that if you go to Bucharest, there is a chance to have to wait for another bus. I went just to Suecava twice, so it was easy and comfortable. I prefer Romanian border to Polish or Hungarian - custom workers are much nicer and the line is shorter.
