This train was almost an hour late.

This was one of the worst trips of my life. I deliberately bought a first-class ticket so we could have reserved seats instead of standing, and so we could enjoy air conditioning because it was extremely hot outside. As it turned out, my young son and I did have seats, but the air conditioning wasn't working. The temperature outside was around 40°C (104°F), and all they could do was open the windows. The problem is that when it's 40°C outside, the air coming through the windows doesn't make things any better—it might even make them worse. As a result, we spent most of the journey standing, even though we had reserved seats, because the only place in the carriage where there was at least a little fresh air was the vestibule by the doors. On top of everything I've already mentioned, the train was also delayed by more than an hour. That meant we had to spend an extra hour traveling in those unbearable conditions. While I have the opportunity to leave feedback, I'd also like to ask how I can request a refund for this trip, as I didn't receive the service I paid for. I specifically paid extra for first class so that we would have reserved seats and air conditioning. Although we had the seats, the air conditioning didn't work, which meant the main benefit of the first-class ticket was not provided.
